School Council

Our School Council gives every class a voice in our school community. Each class elects a School Council member to act as an ambassador for their classmates, sharing ideas, suggestions and concerns. The councillors meet regularly with Mr Carruthers and with school leaders to discuss and debate ways to improve our school and make a positive difference. We are also passionate about helping our local community and the wider world through local advocacy,  fundraising and charity work.

Recently, we raised hundreds of pounds for Knoxwood Wildlife Rescue through an Easter Fayre stall, competition and a whole-school sponsored conga!

One of our proudest achievements was taking a walk around Whitehaven Harbour to gather ideas to improve tourism in the area, before travelling to Westminster to present our plans to MPs in the Houses of Parliament!!

Our current School Councillors are Jakob, Scarlett, Jack H, Reese, Ruth and Alice. Their most recent work has been an Eco-Schools project designed to save energy and help animals in the rainforest, as well as helping to interview candidates for our new Head Teacher position!

If anyone has any questions, suggestions, comments, or ideas - go and see your School Councillor!!
