Newsletter Issue 26 - 17th April 2026
Mental Health and Well-being
At St James’ we believe in every child and we offer a safe and happy nurturing environment for all. We dedicate time to those who need a little extra support and we offer a child centered and tailored approach for individual children. We have dedicated spaces and trained ELSA support staff to help the most vulnerable and we use the services of the wider community such as Howgill Family Centre to help support our approach. Some of the tailored approaches we offer are listed below:
> Dedicated ELSA slots
> Nurture and sensory break out rooms
> Time to be me sessions
> Draw and talk
> Sensory circuits and other movement breaks
> Adapted school start and finish times for soft entrances and exits
> Staff led activities at lunchtimes
