Music 2019 - 2020

Mr Carruthers

Welcome to the Music page.  As musicians at St James', we: sing, compose and play a huge variety of music.  We learn individual instruments or sometimes base a whole theme around one particular song.  We have specialist teachers available to teach on-site, and we also have music as a huge part of our wider curriculum.  Our musicians also have opportunities to work with digital music and sound editing; and also live performce of music and sound engineering.

Below, you will find a huge collection of all our work.  Hopefully you will find various different areas of learning that may interest you.  All of our learning in the wider curriculum is taught in the afternoons, although we often cross over our learning from literacy and numeracy, to help us with the wider curriculum and we base each half-term on a different theme.  Although each theme is different, all of the subjects from the wider curriculum are included, at different times. The themes are exciting and varied; we always do something special in every topic which takes us far from school, to get real experience of the skills we have learned.
