Geography 2023 - 2024

Mr Carruthers

Hello and welcome to the Geography page.  Hopefully you will be able to locate everything you need to know about Geography, here at St James’.    Geography is an amazing subject and it allows us to bring together so much other learning, from other themes and our learning from other years at St James’.  It allows us to build up a bigger picture of the world.  It allows us to understand our place in the wider world.   On top of this locational and place & cultural knowledge, we learn about human and physical geography too.  As we build up our geographical knowledge and understanding, and our understanding of world-wide issues; we begin to see the impact that we have upon the world and the potential that we have to make changes in the world.  We have embarked upon many global campaigns which have been incredibly successful.  We can see that global issues can have local solutions as we “Think Global, Act Local.”  All of this is taught using multi-modal methods to bring the learning alive and to engage all learners.  We use outdoor learning and high-quality fieldwork/research skills, school-wide campaigns, and we share our work globally.
