Buttermere - Growing Plants

Our Science topic this half term is plants. On Thursday afternoon we began to think about what plants need to grow and survive. Our enquiry question for this block is 'Does the number of seeds within a plant pot affect the growth of the plant?'. To explore this we worked in groups to plant some seeds. We made sure each pot had exactly the same amount of soil. Then in the first pot we placed one seed, the next had 2 seeds, the third had 4 seeds and the fourth had 8 seeds. We then gave them exactly the same amount of water. We are going to watch our plants grow and see which grows tallest.
