Foodbank Visit

Class: Church Links & RE Year: 2018 - 2019

On Monday, ourselves and the rest of the school councillors visited the Foodbank in Cockermouth.  Whilst there we did a variety of things. We did some sorting of the food, then travelled to the warehouse to see mountains of tins, and even named a can of tuna. Ours were called Tina and Tom. Here are some facts about Foodbank: Foodbank started in 2009 (soon to be 10 years old) created by one man. Also, the largest amount of food donated at one time was a whopping 340kg. Last year they fed 6000 people.  The most popular food donated is baked beans.

We think the volunteers were very kind in helping other people that go without food.  It made us think that the people who have been helped would be really thankful to this charity.

Foodbank wish is offer a very big thankyou to all of the children who donated food at harvest time.
