Our approach to Learning

St James' CE Jun School offers a broad and balance currciulum.  Please take some time browsing through the numerous galleries from the 'Our Galleres' link on the school homepage. Here you will find images of children taking part in a variety of events including, paddle boarding, rock climbing, performing in shows, painting, rollercoaster-building;and developing computer programs to name but a few..There are so many more so please take a look.

In addition to these varied opportunities we also recognise the importance of developing reading, writing and maths.  Below you will be able to access information based on our Reading Initiative: VIPERS and our approach to delivering a Mastery of Maths.

Underpinning all of our teaching is an approach called 'Learn 2 Learn'. This approach encourages whole-class engagement in lessons and uses talk and collaboration as an essential tool for learning new things.  To find out more about Reading Vipers, Maths Mastery and Learn 2 Learn, please follow the links below.
