Class 2 music. - The Storm

Lesson: Music

Class: Music Year: 2021 - 2022

Children listened to and appraised 'The Storm' by Benjamin Britten. It was a truly awesome moment as the class sat awestruck, stunned into silence by the sheer emotion and drama of the piece!

They then made a word map to show the range of emotions they had experienced from listening to the piece.

Children then learnt to read music and play in different time signatures, by learning the  rhythm and melody of the main motif of the piece, before composing their own interlude based on three different aspects of a storm.

They learnt that a rondo follows a structure where the same section of music is broken up by different interludes or sections.

Watch the first video of the children all playing the piece on Glockenspeils,

There is also a second gallery with the video where you can hear their compositions.

They all did fantastically well. Well done Class 2 - you worked so sensibly and thoughtfully on these and showed some excellent musical talent.
