Y3 Science Investigation Day

Class: Mrs Pickering - Bassenthwaite Year: 2018 - 2019

After discussing what shapes built strong structures, the children were challenged to design and build a bridge that could hold a tin of sweetcorn out of spagetti and elastic bands. The results were fabulous and 5 teams managed to build a structure strong enough to hold the sweetcorn!

The children were also challenged to build using only one piece of paper. They made the tallest tower they could and the strongest support they could to hold up a rubber between two ends.

In the afternoon we looked into planet conservation. We watched BBC KS2 Blue Planet Live and talked about what we could do as children to help look after our planet. We then made posters to encourage others to reduce, reuse and recycle.
