St James’ bridge is falling down?

Lesson: Design and technology

Class: Mrs Pickering - Bassenthwaite Year: 2019 - 2020

We all really enjoyed our design a bridge DT day.

Working in small groups we had to research, design and build a bridge which:

a) is built from paper, card, art straws, glue and sell tape only.

b) can span a 40cm gap

c) can hold at least 1kg in weight

d) can support itself

Once we had built our bridges, we joined classes 2 and 6 to test them. There was a lot of excitement as the weights were added. The winning bridge held an amazing 13kg!

We all really enjoyed our day.
