Creation and the Garden of Eden

Class: Church Links & RE Year: 2017 - 2018

On Friday class 6 listened to the creation story in a different way. The children went on a imaginative journey through each stage of the creation story. The classroom was so still, calm and quiet. The children responded brilliantly to the lesson and here are some of their responses immediately after the activity;

"We went through the story of when God created the world." Adam.

"I though we went into a garden." Sonny.

"I could feel the grass going through my toes." Alis.

"I could see a stormy island." Gus.

"It felt realistic, like it was happening right now." Bradley.

"I liked it because it felt like I was really there, it was so calm and peaceful." Maisie.

"I could feel the wind whistling past my face." Ethan.

We then went on to sketch the Garden of Eden based on a piece of artwork from John Dyer. Keep a look out for their painted sketches.

Finally we listened to a piece of sripture from Genesis ch2 v7-18 to help is understand the picture in more detail.
