Class 2 - Victorian Portraits

Class: Mr Carruthers - Derwentwater Year: 2020 - 2021

We have been learning all about royal portraits 👑  and the reasons behind them.  We have already learned a lot about propaganda in this topic and previous ones too.  Royal portraits could be considered a form of propaganda as they tried to convey a certain image of a monarch to their subjects.  See if you think these portraits convey a sense of; power, seriousness, stoicism, benevolence, and beauty (all at the same time!).

We created pencil sketches first, then we created portraits with watercolours.
