Art - Texture Pictures

Lesson: Art and design

Class: Miss A Pool - Buttermere Year: 2022 - 2023

We began to look at how texture can be created and used to make art.
To begin we used materials inside and outside of the classroom to find different textures and took some rubbings of them. We used different coloured oil pastels to create our rubbings, using the walls, stones, carpet and the hessian display backing. We then considered the technique of 'frottage', which is using rubbings to form the basis of a peice of art work. In the style of Maud Purdy we tried to use our ribbings to create a flower painting, tearing our paper to create the shape of a stem and petals.
