Young Fundraiser of the Year 2017

Last week, one of our children in Year 3, Alfie was invited along to the Calderwood House Homeless Heroes Charity Auction and Ball. At this event, Alfie was inspired by a visit to Manchester where he saw numbers of homeless people on the streets and was moved to do something about it.  Alfie got in touch with Calderwood House, a local charity that supports homeless adults.  Completeley off his own back, Alfie began selling pin badges to raise funds.  Alfie managed to raise £550 to date and is continuing with his fundraising ventures throughout the summer.  As recognition for his tremendous effort and compassion, Alfie was awarded with 'The Young Fundraiser of the Year Award 2017'.  His family and all at St James' are hugely proud of Alfie and would like to say a huge well done for all that he has done this year.

Many thanks
